Agora Energiewende - The German Energy Transformation

The founders of SEFEP, Stiftung Mercator and European Climate Foundation (ECF), currently start an initiative, placed within the SEFEP institutional framework, to promote the German “Energiewende“ (energy transformation). Titled Agora Energiewende, the project is to substantiate the discussion concerning the actual implementation of the energy transition. Over the next five years, both foundations will invest a double-digit million Euro sum in the venture.

The core of the Agora Energiewende will be an ongoing dialogue with the most important actors of energy policy concerning the central goal of the energy transformation: the nearly full decarbonisation by 2050.

As of April 1st, Rainer Baake, former State Secretary and recent executive director of the Deutsche Umwelthilfe, will head the new initiative, which is located in Berlin. For information, please visit Agora's website here.
